Scope of Practice – Veterinary Assistants

The purpose of the chapter is to outline the supervision responsibilities for veterinary assistants and outline the supervision required when veterinary assistants are assigned animal care tasks.

Scope of Practice – Technicians

The purpose of the chapter is to outline the scope of practice for veterinary technicians and outline the level of supervision required when veterinary technicians perform assigned animal care tasks. Please note that an individual may not hold themselves to be a veterinary technician in the state of Georgia without a valid license issued by the State Board. To do otherwise is a violation of the law.
