The Student Relations Committee of the GVMA works to promote the importance of organized veterinary medicine to current students at the University of Georgia College of Veterinary Medicine. If you are interested in getting involved with any of these programs, contact the GVMA.
- Student Mentor Program - Help students learn what it means to be a practicing veterinarian, be available for questions, and foster an interest in organized veterinary medicine.
- Send a Student - For $150 you can Send-a-Student to the GVMA Fall Convention. Your donation helps provide UGA students with transportation, lodging, meals and registration. You can even designate that your donation be used to send a specific student – such as the person who you mentor or another promising veterinary student – to convention. Download a brochure.
- White Coat Ceremony - Present new students with their very first white coat embroidered with the GVMA name and logo during a ceremony with friends and family.
- UGA Back to School Barbecue - Welcome all veterinary students to Athens during the first week of classes with hamburgers and hotdogs.
- Holiday Lunch - Celebrates the end of the fall semester with a lunch for students.
- Career Fair Dinner - Veterinarians from all practice areas meet with graduating students to discuss possible job opportunities.
