Annual Foundation Day is the day after Labor Day

About Foundation Day

GVMA Foundation Day happens each year on the day after Labor Day, and this year that date is Tuesday, September 2. For a list of donors from the 2013 event on September 3 click here.

Foundation Day is the largest source of revenue for VetHeart of Georgia, contributing hundreds of thousands of dollars for worthy causes since its inception in 2004. Foundation Day is the sole source of support for scholarships going to veterinary and technician students, as well as deserving FFA and 4H students. Foundation Day is aptly named as Georgia veterinarians will support the very basis of our profession - the best and brightest students.

Foundation Day pledges go toward:

  • Scholarships to help ensure the best and brightest veterinary students are able to afford the high cost of veterinary education

  • Support of animals in natural disasters such as hurricanes, fire and flooding.

  • Promotion of the Human-Animal Bond.

What to Give

To help us to better serve as the “heart” of Georgia’s veterinary professionals, each veterinary practice is asked annually to contribute 10-25% of its gross receipts for the day. If you do not own a business, you are encouraged to ask your employer to participate or simply make a donation. This goal is only obtainable with the help of all Georgia veterinarians.
