About the Speaker:
Dr. Bonnie Gatson is a graduate of the University of Florida College of Veterinary Medicine. After completing a small animal rotating internship at Tufts Veterinary School, she returned to the University of Florida for training in anesthesia and analgesia. After her residency, Dr. Gatson joined the Anesthesia and Pain Management Department at the University of Florida, where she has been practicing since 2015. Dr. Gatson specializes in anesthesia of critical care patients, advanced loco-regional anesthetic techniques and anesthetic management of exotic species. She has several research papers published in peer reviewed journals dedicated to these topics including the American Journal of Veterinary Research, the Journal of Zoo and Wildlife Medicine, and Veterinary Anesthesia and Analgesia. In 2015, Dr. Gatson received the distinguished Resident Abstract Award from the American College of Veterinary Anesthesia and Analgesia for her translational research in CPR techniques. Outside of her work in anesthesia and pain management, Dr. Gatson enjoys spending time with her husband, two daughters, and her pets: a dog and several tortoises. Dr. Gatson has been board certified in Veterinary Anesthesia and Pain Management since 2016.
