Things Finally Get Moving
After a start-and-stop beginning to the 2019 session, business under the Gold Dome is now humming along at its typical pace. This week, legislators convened four days and introduced over 225 pieces of new legislation. Nearly every committee and subcommittee met at least once.
GVMA Priority Issue: Professional Health Program For Ga. Veterinarians

Assigned to the Senate Agriculture and Consumer Affairs Committee on 2/8
This legislation allows the state board to contract with a professional health program to provide rehabilitative services to impaired veterinarians. A similar program exists but it limited to physicians and other professionals licensed by the Georgia Composite Medical Board. This is a priority of the Association’s Wellness Committee.
