Legislative Days 33-35                                                                                              March 22, 2019

Spring Fever

Wednesday was the first official day of spring.  Lawmakers and lobbyists alike are doing their best to curb restlessness as the session approaches its highpoint.  While most people associate spring with longer days, for those who set their watch to Georgia’s legislative time, it doesn’t have anything to do with an extra hour of daylight.  Long days – and long nights – become the norm at the Capitol as legislative work stretches deep into the evening.

Next week’s schedule will see its share of late nights too.  The House and Senate will be in session Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday, ticking off four additional legislative days.  Wednesday is reserved as a final day for committees to perfect bills in order for them to be considered before sine die on Tuesday, April 2.
